As a kid, I was always running, jumping, climbing trees, scraping my knees. One day, my Nonna taught me how to crochet and knit. Everything changed after that. I was able to sit down but still be active and I was making stuff with yarn. Many years later when she died, I inherited her yarn closet, her needles, her patience for teaching and her love of making things for other people.
This has manifested itself into Sally Ann Designs. A place where I can create beautiful items - the yarn closet is now a basement full of yarn from all over the world, the needles - still working with her aluminum # 13’s, patience - I invoke her spirit every time I teach a class, and making for others - such a high when people wear what I have made.
